Budgets

Budgets let you set a maximum amount per spending category, then track your progress in real time throughout the month.

Why use budgets?

  • See clearly where your money goes each month.
  • Set realistic limits per spending category.
  • Catch overspending before it becomes a problem.
  • Make better financial decisions every day.

Create a budget

  1. Go to the Budgets section.
  2. Click Add a budget.
  3. Select a category (e.g. Groceries, Restaurants, Entertainment).
  4. Set the monthly amount you don't want to exceed.
  5. The budget is active immediately and renews every month.

Track your budgets

Once your budgets are set up, Piastro automatically calculates your progress:

  • Green progress bar — you're on track.
  • Orange bar — careful, you're approaching the limit.
  • Red bar — the budget is exceeded.
  • The remaining (or exceeded) amount is clearly displayed.

  • Edit a budget's amount at any time.
  • Delete a budget if the category is no longer relevant.
  • View history to see month-over-month trends.

Tips

  • Start with your 3-4 biggest spending categories.
  • Base your amounts on actual spending from the past months (visible in the dashboard).
  • Adjust your budgets after 1-2 months to keep them realistic.
  • The Discovery plan allows up to 10 budgets. Upgrade to Essential for unlimited budgets.
